“The Joy of X: A Guided Tour of Math from One to Infinity” by Steven Strogatz is a funny and thought-provoking way of looking at mathematics. Mr. Strogatz provides a refreshing philosophical view and comical remarks, both of which last through the book. As he explains the mathematical conundrums of our world, his wonderful book leads with a theme as strong as the concept of numbers themselves: math is an infinite amount of joy.
Rating: As one who doesn’t particularly enjoy math, I have to say, I love it. I strongly recommend this book for readers who understand basic math, or for those who understand it thoroughly.
